WaveWalker 1 carried out a project supporting drilling and blasting works in order to deepen the Suape outer channel in Brazil.
The jack-up was used on the project for its walking ability to relocate on to multiple positions without the need of an attending tug, reducing the project programme and operational costs.
Due to the swells experienced on the nearshore Brazilian coast, floating equipment or conventional jack-ups would have experienced a significant amount of downtime due to weather.
