WaveWalker BV
WaveWalker BV is a joint venture company between Fugro and Van Oord which owns, supplies and operates walking jack-ups that provide flexible, efficient resources for marine industry projects in difficult environments, such as surf and intertidal zones, shallow water areas, rough seas, environmentally sensitive sites and on beaches and rocky foreshores.
Developed on the experience and innovation of our partners (Fugro and Van Oord) who recognised the need for effective, flexible resources that could support a diverse range of marine operations, WaveWalker BV was established with the shared operation to design, build and operate WaveWalker 1, the first walking jack-up barge specifically designed to offer a safe, secure solution for marine operations typically affected by tides and weather. This unique, self-contained walking jack-up is capable of operating in shallow water depths, surf and intertidal zones, rough seas and on beaches, thanks to its ability to independently walk in to position.
